Publika half day tour

Out of the many restaurants and cafes in publika, we patronised these 2 last week

#1 Fahrenheit 600
What brought us here? Living social vouchers haha.

Artistic angle

Pretty christmas decorations, but too bad christmas is overrrrr D:

Complimentary champaign 'cause they've got leftovers from christmas!! Nah, just kidding, you know what's that....*wink*

A sneak peak of the menu. Surprisingly, they have a wide variety of chocolate beverages, 'cause you know most cafes only offer hot chocolate? Iced chocolate? And that's it.

Time to snap some photos while waiting for our drinks and cookie to be served.

My bloody iced chocolate (RM11.90)
The name describes this drink so well eh? But I immediately showed a long face when I saw whipped cream on my drink ): it's not that I think cream is fattening or what, I just don't like it. So I immediately asked yin to try how does the cream taste like (apparently it tasted like cream hahahaaaaa) no la, it was alright not very strong.
Overall, the strawberry sauce has the strongest taste, then chocolate comes second and I can barely taste cream

Yin's signature zebra hot chocolate (RM12.90)
Woahhh right? No wonder we had to wait so long for our drinks to be served, the coffee art, and the way they decorated the cup <3

So now, allow me to show you how this thing works, I'll show you step by step, watch carefully....

First and foremost, you have this

And this!

What you gotta do next is to hold the tiny mug, be sure to hold it firmly otherwise the chocolate will spill and you'll be wasting your money

And now start pouring!! Keep pouring until the hot chocolate in the mini jug is completely transferred into the cup. Make sure you pour until the last drop 'cause you don't wanna waste (:

And you've reached the last stage, simply stir everything until even and a cup of chocolaty zebra hot chocolate is ready to be entered into your mouth :3
According to yin, she prefers Artisan's hot chocolate, more gao woh. But I liked this one more, less milky and your taste buds get to enjoy different 層次感.

Almond chocolate cookie to go with our drinks. (RM4.90) Nuts are good for your brain and they are essential in a healthy diet *wink for the second time*

This is what we can afford with our RM30 worth of voucher. Not enough money to order savoury treats .

#2 Coffee Societe
Because our tummies are not yet satisfied....

Hashtag hashtag, check-in check-in, so that your buddies can comment bojio *wink for the third time*

Water is necessary!

Shine bright like a diamond~

Trying yin's camera's sparkling effect ******

Woahhhh, Coffee Societe is awarded best place for coffee 2013 by Time Out KL, their coffee must be very good then!!

In that case, lai lai waiter, we would like to have
.....
.....
.....
.....
.....
Societe eggs Atlantic (RM24)
Why not? We don't feel like drinking coffee cannot? Unlike ordinary egg benedict, here they use multigrain bread instead of English muffin.

And then after our meals we walked around B.I.G supermarket for some atas grocery shopping weeeee
We didn't intend to buy anything actually, but we ended up with this

It was RM3.90 and after 80% discount this box of muffin mix cost only RM0.78!!!!
The original price was already very cheapppp and the price that we need to pay at the end is ridiculously low!!!!
Going to expire soon, but who cares? The muffins are already in my tummy *burpp*
So next time don't forget to check out their super sale corner yo!
I know nobody reads this but see you guys soon (:

Spending an afternoon at Damansara Uptown

#1 Departure Lounge
I love the name of this cafe 'cause I love to go on a plane. The first reason is of course if I'm taking a flight, it means that I'm going travelling (how can I not be happy? :D). And the second reason, I like plane food! I don't understand why would people dislike the food served in the air? Like what my grandparents did.... Ah, if you guys have the chance right, you must try to eat ice-cream in the aeroplane!!!! You can take your own sweet time to enjoy 'cause it melts very very slowly due to the pressure or something (I'm not a science person so I don't know hahaa).

Yin and I chose this cafe to have lunch 'cause we love to eat breakfast :3 Actually yin has been here before, and she keep recommending it to me, so tadaa here we are!

The interior. Lotsa beautiful photos attached on the wall. Theme: travel. They also have a lot a lot of travelling books near the entrance.

Mine.

Yin's.

Guess what, such a sumptuous meal cost only RM14.90! This is like the cheapest breakfast that I've ever had. Don't take roti canai, nasi lemak as a comparison laa.

You can customise your own breakkie. They have a list of choices like hash brown, salad, pancake, eggs in different styles, caramelised banana, etc. If you or your wallet is on diet, you can go for 3 choices or 5 choices (RM12.90). We went for the ultimate 7 (RM14.90).

Yin's flat white (RM9). She didn't quite like it 'cause she thought it was too bitter.

Tips: it seems impossible to get a place to park at Damansara Uptown, unless you double park or park illegally by the road side. We were smart enough to park in an office building. But you might need to be prepared to go all the way up 'cause 1st to 5th floor are all reserved and visitor parking is from 6th to 10th floor. We managed to get one at 8th floor (better than 10th hahaa). And the sequence of the floors were 1, 1A then 2, 2A, 3, 3A.......so you can imagine how many times we need to pusing@@. Still worth it 'cause we can get proper covered car park and the rate is only RM1 for 3 hours!!

#2 Kaffa Espresso Bar
After lunch we went to grab some coffee (2nd cup for yin!) at Kaffa Cafe

Very cosy, the lighting and design makes you feel comfy :3
A very nice place to meet up with your friends for a long talk (keng sum see probably?)

They don't have a printed version of their menu, so I had to strain my eyes to look at what's available ):

Salted caramel macchiato (RM12.50)
The caramel was aromatic, but we didn't expect to taste so much of salt.

Hot mocha (RM12). I didn't stir my coffee properly so I ended up with a lot of chocolate sauce settled at the bottom :o

If you find the cups interesting, they are actually for sale (of course they'll give you a brand new one).

Set lunch at Morganfield's Pavilion KL

Oh well, if you are shopping around Bukit Bintang area and wanna find a place to chill or have lunch, Morganfield's would be a nice place to go to.

Morganfield's has always been famous for their sticky bones but they also have set lunches which are pretty awesome!

Set lunch menu.
Each set comes with a 'soup of the day' or house salad, and also a glass of bottomless soft drink of your choice. The glass is so big that you might not even need to ask for a refill.

Soup of the day. I've checked the menu it's worth RM8.90 a la carte.
This is barbeque pork soup. There are some veg cubes like carrot, onion & potato and a few chunks of barbeque meat in the soup. It's kind of thick, and you can taste the spiciness as they've put in a generous amount of black pepper. It would be better if they can serve this with a dinner roll/bun/some bread (like how Tony Roma's does). But the soup was not bad :D

And tadaa, the main courses

Pork ham chop (RM25.90)
Served with coleslaw and fries. The texture is like slicing the ham a lot more thicker than usual. Nothing special but if you fancy ham you can give it a try.

Aloha sunrise burger (RM24.90)
Typical western portion, suitable for people with big appetite. As you can see, even the fries they give are so much, maybe because this burger doesn't come with coleslaw so they wanna compensate by giving more fries.

Beer-battered fish fillet (RM18.90)
Couldn't taste beer at all. But we can't go wrong if we order fish & chips.

Garlicky BBQ spare ribs (RM29.90)
Morganfield's signature. The meat was tender, sauce was entirely absorbed into the meat. Perfect for meat-eaters! Next time I'm gonna try their full rib. Oh ya, they are also having a promotion in conjunction with the opening of their new outlet at eCurve.

Simply print this leaflet out and you can enjoy FREE 1/2 slab sticky bones with any purchase of 1 full slab sticky bones (only valid at eCurve outlet).

Ah, going back to Morganfield's Pavilion. The service and ambience was good. The best part is that there wasn't crowd in that restaurant even though it was school holiday and the mall was packed with people. Only from RM16.90 to enjoy a complete meal, so worth it right?

The staff are so friendly that they even draw smiley and write little notes on the receipt. Sometimes this kind of little things and gestures make people feel happy for the whole day (:
